Devils select Nathan Bastian 41st overall

by Staff Writer / New Jersey Devils
Devils' second round pick Nathan Bastian registered nearly a point per game in 2015-16 with 19-40—59 through 64 contests while playing alongside Alexander Nylander (No. 3 NA Skater) and Michael McLeod (No. 13 NA Skater) on the top line for the Mississauga Steelheads.

• Bastian’s breakout season in 2015-16 saw the 6-foot-3 forward more than double his point total from the previous campaign despite playing in fewer games (2014-15: 17-12—29 in 68 GP).

• He played in 21 games as a rookie in 2013-14 after being selected in the seventh round (127th overall) by the Steelheads in the 2013 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection.

• He strives to emulate the playing style and leadership of Kings forward Jeff Carter and enjoys breaking the tension in the locker room with comic relief.
