Devils recall G Yann Danis from Albany

by Staff Writer / New Jersey Devils

The Devils announced Saturday they have recalled goaltender Yann Danis from Albany (AHL) under emergency conditions.

Danis, 34, is 25-9-5 with a 2.28 goals-against average, .907 save percentage and six shutouts for the A-Devils this season. A 2016 AHL All-Star, Danis ranks fourth in the league in wins, fifth in GAA and second in shutouts.

The move follows a lower-body injury to Cory Schneider, who left early in the third period of Friday's road meeting with Dallas after attempting a right pad save on Jason Spezza during a Stars power play. Schneider was relieved by Keith Kinkaid after making 15 saves on 18 shots.

Schneider will be evaluated in New Jersey on Saturday and will miss Sunday's game against Pittsburgh. An update on his status is expected Sunday.

Danis is in his second stint with the organization after signing a one-year two-way contract with the club in July. He last played for the Devils in 2009-10.
