newjerseydevils.com – The Devils have re-signed center Rod Pelley to a new contract. The announcement was made by Devils’ President/CEO/General Manager Lou Lamoriello. As per club policy, no further terms were disclosed.
Pelley, 24, returns to the organization after splitting the 2007-08 season between the NHL and AHL Devils. The 6-0, 200-lb. center recorded two goals and four assists for six points and 19 penalty minutes in 58 games with New Jersey, while adding two goals and one assist for three points and 18 penalty minutes in 11 games with Lowell.
Pelley will attend his third professional training camp next week after four seasons at Ohio State University (CCHA). While with the Buckeyes, he was named to the CCHA All-Tournament Team in 2004 and Second All-Star Team in 2005.
He was born September 1, 1984, in Kitimat, B.C. Not drafted, he signed with the organization as a free agent on July 17, 2006.
