Marek Zidlicky, who led Devils defensemen with 42 points last season, was tapped by NHL.com as New Jersey's top fantasy blueliner.
Wondering which Devils to pick in your fantasy hockey draft? NHL.com’s Fantasy Insiders have released their ranking of the top 275 players in Yahoo leagues, including seven Devils to target for 2014-15.
The list is based on the standard fantasy league scoring system: goals, assists, plus-minus, power-play points, shots on goal, penalty minutes, goalie wins, goals-against average, save percentage and shutouts.
Cory Schneider was tops among all Devils, coming in 10th among NHL goaltenders and 55th overall. He appeared in a career-high 45 games with New Jersey last season, finishing third in the League with a 1.97 GAA that was also the third-best single-season mark in franchise history.
Jaromir Jagr, Mike Cammalleri and Patrik Elias, the Devils' top-ranked fantasy forwards, were slotted at 100, 143, and 160, respectively.
The ageless Jagr was voted team MVP last season after leading the club with 43 assists and 67 points. Cammalleri's coming off of a 26-goal season in Calgary that represented his highest total since 2009-10 (26).
Few are more consistent fantasy performers than Elias, who was second among Devils with 53 points (18g-35a) last season and has finished first or second in team scoring 12 times during his 16 NHL campaigns.
Marek Zidlicky was NHL.com's top-ranked Devils’ fantasy blueliner, coming in 197th overall. He paced all New Jersey defensemen with 42 points last season and posted the second-best goal total of his NHL career (12).
Travis Zajac (223) and Eric Gelinas (228) rounded out NHL.com’s list. Last season, Zajac amassed his highest goals (18) and points (67) totals since 2009-10, when he put up 25 goals and 67 points.
Gelinas finished tied for third among NHL rookie defensemen with 29 points (7g-22a) in only 60 games. His 17 power-play points (5g-12) put him in a three-way tie for second on the club with Jagr (5g-12a) and Elias (4g-12a).
