The Devils lost, 4-3, in overtime to the Calgary Flames despite second period goals by Adam Henrique, Pavel Zacha (PPG) and Kyle Palmeri (PPG). Here's what we learned:
1) The Devils power play went 2-for-3 tonight by going to the dirty areas and causing havoc down low in the slot, but more than just generating offensive pressure, they were able to get nine shots on net with the man advantage.

2) The Devils were outshot tonight 38-29 and lost 59% of the faceoffs. The second period was their most productive in terms of shots and faceoff wins and it's no coincidence that all three of their goals occurred in that frame.
3) After sitting out the last 12 games with an upper body injury, Andy Greene logged over 25 minutes in his first game back to lead the team in time on ice. As he said before the game, the benefit of an upper body injury is that you can still skate and keep your conditioning up. It certainly showed tonight.
The Devils will fly to Columbus and will get right back at it on Saturday night against the Blue Jackets.
