On a night for coming together to celebrate community spirit, the Devils Grassroots team was out making new friends with some Garden State neighbors.
Earlier this week, Grassroots visited the Mennen Sports Arena to take part in National Night Out
, an annual event intended to bring people together with one another – and with local law enforcement – to promote safety in communities throughout the country.
New Jersey Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen and Morris County Park Police Chief William Huyler were just some of the officials on hand for the special occasion, along with Devils Alumni Representative Bruce Driver and N.J. Devil.
Visitors had the chance to ice skate with the Devils' mascot, and later were treated to an autograph session with Driver, who was a member of New Jersey's 1995 Stanley Cup Championship.
Over 30 different law enforcement agencies were on hand to distribute sticker badges to participating kids, who also received Devils posters and team pictures!View gallery of the National Night Out in Mennen!
