The Devils have acquired forward Kyle Palmieri from the Anaheim Ducks for the 41st pick in this year's NHL Draft and New Jersey's option of Florida or Minnesota's (acquired by Florida) third-round selection in the 2016 Draft. That selection was acquired in the Jaromir Jagr trade, Feb. 26, 2015.
Palmieri grew up in Montvale, N.J. He had 29 points (14 goals) in 57 games this season after setting an NHL career high of 31 points in 2013-14, and then had one goal and three assists in 16 games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The 24-year-old forward has 43 goals, 46 assists and a plus-11 rating in 198 NHL games, all with Anaheim.
The Devils selected center Pavel Zacha with the No. 6 pick at BB&T Center on Friday. The Ducks took defenseman Jacob Larsson at No. 27; they did not have a second-round pick before making the trade.
