Dear New Jersey Devils Fans,

What an adventure we're about to take together! My name is Amanda Stein, and I'll be your All-Access Reporter for the 2017-18 season. I wanted to introduce myself, because you'll be seeing a whole lot of me over the course of the year. I'll be chatting with players, coaches and Devils staff all season long, bringing you the most comprehensive coverage possible of your beloved team.

So who is Amanda Stein? I grew up in a hockey crazy city - Montreal - and moving to New Jersey will be the first time I've ever lived outside of my country, and even my province! I come from a pretty big family (I'm one of five kids) and I'm the only real sports fan. No one is really sure how I ended up in the business, other than having figured out my passion for hockey and following it. I've worked behind a microphone hosting SportsCentre (yes, in Canada it's spelled with an "-re"!), traveled to outdoor NHL games and covered an array of other sporting events like the F1, MLS, NBA and CFL. But inside a hockey rink is home to me.

Most of my life has rotated around the game of hockey, whether it was as a fan perched on my couch watching games three times a week, or attending practices and games as a reporter - I've followed the game just about everywhere. Fresh out of school, I got a job at the only all-English sports radio station in Montreal. I called TSN home for the last seven seasons, and had the honor of covering my childhood team, the Montreal Canadiens. I attended every home game, every practice, traveled on the road during the playoffs with the team and nearly froze to death covering an outdoor game in Calgary. It was a dream come true, but when this opportunity with the Devils came up, I knew it was for me. To take everything that I've learned, the passion and love I've cultivated for the sport, and bring that to the Devils was a challenge I wanted to experience and I hope I will do it justice.

You may be wondering what other things I enjoy, and how I get away from the game. One of my favorite things to do in my down time is improv comedy, and I love listening to comedy podcasts. I'm a bit of a Harry Potter geek too. I've read each book probably five times, and I have my very own wand. I promise that will become endearing as you get to know me better!

Moving to New Jersey has been a really exciting process. Not only do I get to be part of an up-and-coming team, but I have a lot of family in the area that I'll be reunited with. I have no doubt the New Jersey Devils organization and you, the fans, will become my family too. I'm so looking forward to working with a great group of young professionals who care deeply about the success both on and off the ice, and I hope to be a part of it all!
