Here are 10 takeaways from the game:
1. Jesper Bratt was made a healthy scratch for just the second time this season. Taking his place on the top line with Taylor Hall and Nico Hischier was Kyle Palmieri.
Against the Golden Knights, Palmieri scored his 19th goal of the season on the Devils seventh goal of the night.
2. Returning to the lineup was forward Travis Zajac who missed the team's prior game in Nashville with an upper body injury. Zajac centered the second line with Michael Grabner and Brian Gibbons on his wings. Against the Golden Knights Zajac played 18:06 and scored the Devils third goal of the night.
3. Keith Kinkaid started in net extending his career best season starts to 28 games. Against the Golden Knights Kinkaid made 39 saves, earning his 18th victory of the season.
4. Blake Coleman made the Golden Knights pay on their first period power play opportunity. A shorthanded goal by Coleman put the Devils up 1-0 at 6:23. Brian Gibbons started the play entering the zone and pulling back waiting for a streaking Coleman, who caught Golden Knights goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury off-guard to take the lead. The Devils are 8-0-1 in games where they have scored shorthanded this season. New Jersey also join Chicago, Edmonton and Florida as the only teams to score on Vegas shorthanded this season.
5. The Devils were up 2-0 by the end of the first period, but only scored one goal. How does that work? Nico Hischier was credited for the Devils second goal when his cross-ice pass deflected off Golden Knight forward Tomas Tatar's stick and past his own goal tender. The own-goal by Vegas gave the Devils a 2-0 lead at 8:10 of the first.

6. The Devils doubled their 2-0 lead early in the second period in a span of 36 seconds. Travis Zajac and Stefan Noesen each scored early in the first for a 4-0 New Jersey lead. Noesen's 11th goal of the season also chased Marc-Andre Fleury from the net after giving up four goals on 11 shots.

7. The Devils chased Fleury from the net at 2:31 of the second period after giving up four goals. It was the first time Fleury has allowed four or more goals this season, and was also the first time the Golden Knights netminder has been pulled from a game this season.
8. Grabner has his first two points as a New Jersey Devil. He assisted on Zajac's second period goal for his first point in nine games as a Devil. And later would notch his first goal as a Devil, scoring New Jersey's 6th goal of the game at 7:02 of the third period.
