Forward David Clarkson will be activated from injured reserve for tonight's home game against Atlanta, the Devils have announced. Rookie defenseman Matt Corrente has been assigned to Lowell.
Clarkson, 25, has missed 13 games since Nov. 27, when he broke the bone above his right ankle after blocking a shot by Boston's Zdeno Chara. With seven goals, eight assists in 23 games, the right wing was off to the best start of his career when he got hurt.
Corrente, 21, saw action in seven games after being recalled from the Devils' top AHL affiliate on Nov. 11. He made his NHL debut at Dallas on Nov. 21, and had two spirited fights in a contest against Tampa Bay on Dec. 4. The Mississauga, Ontario, native was selected 30th overall by the Devils in 2006.
