The Devils have seen a turnaround in their season, going 6-2-1 in their last nine games. A huge reason for the team's recent success, according to veteran Wayne Simmonds, is embracing the coaching staff's message.
"We're keeping it simple, we're playing to our identity, and everyone's bought in" said Simmonds.
Interim Head Coach Alain Nasreddine likes how his team is coming out strong for games, especially with their speed.
"We're ready from the get-go and if you're not skating then, you're not getting that and you're chasing the game," said Nasreddine.
Following the team's 2-1 win over the Islanders, the coach was happy with his team's ability to control the game. "For the most part, we did well managing the game and had our moments."
"[Nasreddine] has a lot of respect in this room and the guys have responded. We may not have gotten the wins earlier, but we're starting to get them now. As long as we stick to that, we'll be ok."
