Here’s what you need to know for tonight’s matchup with the Sabres!

1.
The Devils are opening a season-high six-game homestand tonight. It’s their longest since a six-game stretch from January 17-31, 2012 (3-2-1).

2. This is second of three meetings between the Devils and Sabres this season and the second of two to be played at The Rock. New Jersey leads the season series 1-0-0 following a 4-1 win at The Rock on Jan. 6.

3. The Devils have points in 10 of their last 12 games at The Rock (7-2-3).

4. Stephen Gionta was activated from injured reserve today after missing 18 games with a broken hand. His older brother, ex-Devil Brian, is the Sabres’ captain

5. Travis Zajac is set to become the 14th player (eighth forward) to play in 600 games with Devils. Zajac made his NHL debut on Oct. 6, 2006 in the season opener at Carolina and played in a franchise record 401 consecutive games from Oct. 26, 2006-April 10, 2011.

6. Buffalo has lost three straight and is 2-18-0 over its last 20 games.
