by Staff Writer / New Jersey Devils

1. This is the fifth and final meeting of the season between the teams and the rubber game for the season series. The Devils are 2-2-0 against Carolina this season and 1-1-0 on the road. The Hurricanes won, 3-1, at Prudential Center on March 1.

2. Coach John Hynes' group, which fell to Washington 1-0 in overtime on Friday, is 5-2-1 over its last eight contests.

3. Scott Wedgewood gets the call for his fourth straight start tonight. He made 25 saves in Friday's setback and has stopped 91 of 93 shots in his first three starts. His shutout streak, which ended at 159:34 when John Carlson scored at 2:17 of OT, is the second longest by a rookie goaltender in Devils history.

4. Kyle Palmieri needs one goal to become the first Devil to reach 30 since the 2011-12 season. The Devils' leading scorer has seven points in his last five games (4g-3a).

5. Adam Henrique, second on the Devils with 27 goals, needs one point to reach 200 for his NHL career.

6. The Devils announced today that Cory Schneider will be placed on injured reserve, retroactive to March 4, on Monday. He will report to Albany (AHL) for a Monday practice with the A-Devils, then return to practice with New Jersey on Tuesday, when the Devils host Boston at Prudential Center.
