by Staff Writer / New Jersey Devils

Here’s what you need to know for tonight’s game in Carolina!

1. This is the fourth and final meeting between the Metropolitan Division rivals this season. The Devils are 2-0-1 against the Hurricanes despite being outshot 105-54 in their three previous tilts. Their last encounter resulted in a 3-1 Devils victory at The Rock on Feb. 21.

2. The Devils are 10-5-3 over their last 18 games following Thursday’s 3-2 overtime loss in Washington. They have points in a season-high four straight road contests (2-0-2) and are 3-1-2 over their last six away from Prudential Center.

3. Keith Kinkaid gets the call in goal tonight. He’s won his last three starts, allowing three goals. He made 28 saves in his last start, a 3-1 victory in Buffalo on March 21 that was his first career road win.

4. Scott Gomez, who enters tonight with points in back-to-back games (1g-1a), has tallied a goal and three assists in his last four outings. He’s six assists (358) behind Scott Niedermayer (364) for second in Devils history.

5. Jordin Tootoo is set to appear in his 600th NHL game tonight. With nine goals this season, Tootoo is two shy of his single-season career high set in 2007-08 with Nashville.

6. Carolina snapped a four-game winless streak (0-2-2) with a 5-2 victory over Pittsburgh on Thursday.
