Brodeur joined Vancouver Canucks forward Daniel Sedin (First Star), Florida Panthers left wing David Booth (Second Star) as this week's honorees.
The Devils goaltender posted a 2-0-0 record with a 0.97 goals-against average and .951 save percentage as the Devils opened the season with a pair of 2-1 triumphs. He stopped 25 shots in the Devils’ home opener, a 2-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Oct. 10.
The next night, he made 14 saves in a 2-1 overtime victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins. The victories improved Brodeur’s career total to 540, pulling him within 11 of matching Patrick Roy’s NHL record.
