Team Red came from behind to defeat Team White 3-2 in overtime at the Devils' annual Red vs. White Scrimmage at RWJBarnabas Health Hockey House at Prudential Center on Saturday.

The format of the game was two 25-minute halves. The first half was five-on-five and the second half was four-on-four. The only goal in the first half was scored by Nicholas Canade, who dented the twine for Team White.

Jack Hughes found pay dirt early in the second half with the teams now playing four-on-four. Hughes fired the puck through a screen low for the goal.

Red took the lead when Nikita Popugaev scored on a quick release in the slot to make it 2-1. White knotted it at 2-2 after Michael McLeod dropped the puck back to Jesper Boqvist on a breakaway. Boqvist made no mistake, rifling it by to tie the game.

In three-on-three overtime, Marian Studenic redirected a feed from Blake Speers into the net which sealed the win for Team Red.
