SAN DIEGO, CA - It's the middle of July but the New Jersey Devils came away with a victory tonight, topping every other sports organization for Best Special Occasion Video at the Golden Matrix Awards in San Diego.
The video which won the Devils the award was their game open for 90s night, which was a creative look at the digital age from 20 years ago. Watch the video here:
"It's important to deliver a unique, engaging experience with our fans that entertains them and creates special memories at every game," said Devils Director of Event Presentation Ben Broder. "This was an opportunity to marry our winning history with a fun pop culture theme."
The IDEA conference, held in San Diego this year, brings the large screen video and matrix display industry in sports together annually and hands out its Golden Matrix Awards which recognize artistic and technical excellence.
With the win, the Devils beat out finalists the Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs.
