Newark, NJ – April 8, 2014 – Taking her talents beyond the National Anthem at New Jersey Devils games and the walls of Prudential Center, Devils anthem singer Arlette is releasing her debut single ‘Save Me’ on iTunes today. A true fan favorite and long standing official Devils anthem singer, Arlette has been singing in front of Devils fans for almost two decades and now with her latest release she is sharing her voice with those around the globe.
Arlette was noticed by Devils President and General Manager Lou Lamoriello during the 1990’s at a restaurant in New York City. After coming to know Arlette and her talents though a number of visits, she was invited to sing the National Anthem one evening for a Devils game. From there, Arlette was invited back for additional games. Fan support for her grew with each performance and she was asked to become the team’s official anthem singer.
"I am honored to be part of the New Jersey Devils family. I am eternally grateful to the organization and its fans for their unwavering support,” said Arlette. “I look forward to continuing this journey with them.”
Arlette was born in Trinidad and began singing in her church choir as a child and continued into her teen years, eventually starting her own singing group which performed at various talent shows, and social events. During her time studying Chemistry at Long Island University, she was accepted as lead singer in a wedding band and began singing throughout the New York area. Meeting her husband Luigi through their shared passion of music, the two began performing together prior to coupling. After graduation in 1996, she dedicated her full attention to singing and music. Through the course of her career, Arlette has performed continually with her husband and other musicians in New York and New Jersey.
