DEVILS VS. BLUE JACKETS
Tonight is the second of four meetings between New Jersey and Columbus in 2016-17. The Devils are 1-0-0 against the Blue Jackets this season. The club defeated Columbus, 5-1, on Feb. 4 at Nationwide Arena. Taylor Hall led the way for the Devils with two goals and a season-high eight shots (tie, Nov. 5 at TB). Travis Zajac had one goal (PP) and one assist. Jacob Josefson and Seth Helgeson also scored for the Devils. It was the first goal of Helgeson's NHL career.
Cory Schneider stopped 31 of 32 shots for his 16th win of the season.
New Jersey will close out their 14th of 18 sets of back-to-back games this season. The Devils are 4-6-4 in first games and are 7-3-3 in second games of back-to-backs. The club is 8-7-3 against the Metropolitan Division and is 15-18-7 vs. Eastern Conference opponents.
New Jersey is 3-3-1 at Prudential Center but is 4-7-2 overall against the Blue Jackets since the 2013-14 season.
Pavel Zacha (I.R., concussion, four games missed) has resumed skating with the team.
Jacob Josefson (upper body, two games missed) is day-to-day.
Michael Cammalleri (upper body, one game missed) is day-to-day/will be evaluated further.
