12/18 Devils at Rangers: 3 Things to Know

by Julie Robenhymer / newjerseydevils.com

The Devils (12-12-6) faceoff against the Rangers (22-10-3) at Madison Square Garden tonight in the second half of a back-to-back for both teams. Here's what you need to know:

1) Head coach John Hynes switched up the defensive pairings in last night's game in an attempt to spark an improved attention to detail. It seemed to work, and he mentioned after the game that he liked what he saw. I'd keep an eye out for that again tonight.

2) Look for a lineup change, as well, to get some fresh legs on the ice after last night's game and a 2:30 a.m. arrival in Newark. Pavel Zacha, P.A. Parenteau and Beau Bennett were all healthy scratches last night.

3) After last night's 3-1 loss to Ottawa, Hynes did not commit to a starting goaltender for tonight's game and mentioned the possibility of Keith Kinkaid getting back-to-back starts after a strong performance last night despite the loss. We will know more after his media availability at 5:15 p.m. So, be sure to tune into the Devils All-Access Pregame Show on Facebook Live at 5:45 p.m. for all the latest news and analysis ahead of tonight's game.

You can catch tonight's action on MSG+2, WFAN or The One Jersey Network. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
