Team Notes

• New Jersey fell to 0-2-0 on its three-game road trip, to 6-9-1 away from Prudential Center this season and to 9-12-4 overall.

• The Devils are now 3-4-1 within the Metropolitan Division.

• New Jersey was shut out for the third time this season & the second time in the last four games.

• The Devils were 2/2 on the penalty kill and are 35/37 (94.6%) over the past ten games.

• New Jersey out shot Pittsburgh, 29-23, tonight and fell to 1-5-1 when outshooting an opponent this season.

Player Notes

Cory Schneider (22 saves) made his NHL-leading 24th start and fell to 9-11-3 on the season.

Jaromir Jagr recorded three shots on goal tonight and now has 5,160 in his career. He's passed Al MacInnis (5,157) for sole-possession of third-place in NHL history. Marcel Dionne (5,366) is second.

Scott Gomez, whose new contract was announced yesterday, skated for the Devils for the first time since May 5, 2007 (Game 6 Eastern Conference Semifinals vs. Ottawa). It was his first regular season appearance since April 8, 2007 vs. the New York Islanders. Gomez becomes the 25th player in Devils' history to be re-acquired and see action for the team.

• Gomez registered one shot on goal and was 8/20 (40.0%) on face-offs in 22:10 of ice time, including 4:18 on the power play.

Michael Ryder was a healthy scratch tonight, snapping his consecutive games-played streak at 111, dating back to April 18, 2013. Ryder last missed a game on April 17, 2013 at Pittsburgh due to an upper body injury.
