The Devils (4-3-3) look to earn their first win on the road tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes (3-4-3). Here's what you need to know:
1) The Devils are 7th in the league in goals against with an average of 2.4 goals allowed per game, but are 27th in scoring with an average of 2.2 goals per game. On the flip side, Carolina is 27th in the league in goals allowed with an average of 3.4 per game, but their offensive is a bit more effective than the Devils with an average of 2.7 goals per game, good for 15th in the league.
2) Both teams played on the road last night as Carolina beat Nashville in overtime. It is expected that Keith Kinkaid (0-0-1) will be in net for the Devils and Eddie Lack (1-1-1) will man the crease for the Canes.
3) The Devils are winless on the road with an 0-3-2 record. Damon Severson said yesterday that they needed to figure out how to win on the road if they want to make the playoffs. "We can't just be a team that wins at home. We're not going to get where we want to go if we can't at least be .500 on the road. We just need to focus on our game and get it done."
