DAWN OF A NEW ERA

This afternoon's game marks the 35th Anniversary Season of Devils Hockey in the Garden State. Through 2704 regular season games, NJ has 1272 wins, 1082 losses, 219 ties, and 131 OT/shootout losses for 2894 points.

In that span the club has won 3 Stanley Cup Championships, 5 Eastern Conference titles, 9 Atlantic Division Titles and has seen 10 of their former players (Dave Andreychuk, Slava Fetisov, Doug Gilmour, Phil Housley, Igor Larionov, Scott Niedermayer, Joe Nieuwendyk, Brendan Shanahan, Peter Stastny and Scott Stevens) elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Lou Lamoriello, Pat Burns, and Herb Brooks were all inducted into the Hall of Fame as Builders.

INJURIES

Travis Zajac (torn left pectoral muscle) is out 4-6 months at time of surgery, August 17, 2017.

Brian Boyle (Chronic Myeloid Leukemia) is skating on own.

Michael McLeod (lower body, suffered September 25, 2017) is skating on own.

RECENT TRANSACTIONS

October 1: Assigned D Viktor Loov to Binghamton (AHL). Signed F Jimmy Hayes as a free agent to a one-year, one-way contract.

October 3: Assigned forwards F Joseph Blandisi, Nick Lappin, John Quenneville and D Brian Strait to Binghmaton (AHL).
