10/20 Pregame Notes: Devils vs. Sharks

LAST GAME: NEW JERSEY 5 at OTTAWA 4 (OT)
New Jersey won its third consecutive game and improved to 6-1-0 overall and 4-0-0 on the road. The Devils came from behind for their second consecutive win when trailing after two periods.
Thursday's game opened the second of 16 sets of back-to-back games for the Devils. The club is now 1-1-0 in first games and 1-0-0 in second games of back-to-back sets. The Devils are 4-0-0 against Atlantic Division opponents.
John Moore scored the game-winning goal 1:20 into overtime and now has five OT goals since 2015-16 season. He also had an assist on Hischier's second goal.
Nico Hischier had three points (2g-1a) on the night. It was his first goal and three-point night of his NHL career/as a Devil. Hischier has seven points (2g-5a) in the first seven games of his NHL career.
Taylor Hall had four assists which tied a career-high (Apr. 3, 2013 at CGY, 1g-4a). It was Hall's fifth four-point game of his career.
Kyle Palmieri had two points (1g-1a) for his third multi-point game of the season.
Drew Stafford extended his point-streak to three games (3g-1a) after he assisted Hischier's first goal.
Marcus Johansson scored the game tying goal 15:05 into the third period.
Cory Schneider stopped 20 of 24 shots before he exited the game after the second period (lower body injury). Keith Kinkaid stopped all nine shots that he faced to improve to 2-0-0.
Damon Severson led the Devils with 23:24 TOI and was +3.

TONIGHT'S GAME
New Jersey will face San Jose for the first of two meetings this season. The Devils will travel to San Jose for their second and final meeting of the regular season on Mar. 20 at SAP Center.
In 2016-17, the Sharks swept the Devils, 2-0-0. NJD was held win-less against the Sharks for the first time since 2013-14. The club has not defeated San Jose at Prudential Center since Feb. 11, 2011.
Taylor Hall has five points (3g-2a) in his last five games against San Jose, including one assist in one game played against the Sharks last season as a Devil.
Tonight will be the Devils first match up against a Pacific Division opponent. The club is 1-0-0 against the Western Conference in 2017-18.
Tonight, New Jersey closes its second of 16 back-to-back matches. The Devils defeated the Senators 5-4 (OT) in the first game of their back-to-back. The club is 1-1-0 in first games and is 1-0-0 in second matches of back-to-back scenarios. The Devils will open their third set of games on consecutive days when they face the Senators on Fri., Oct. 27.
