Devils refocus after their first win of the season

The Devils put Tuesday's win behind them to prepare for Thursday's game in Boston

Tonight is the first of three meetings against the Bruins in 2016-17. The clubs will not faceoff again until Jan. 2 at Prudential Center. They wrap up their season series on Mar. 4 at TD Garden.

New Jersey is looking for its first road win of the season. The Devils are currently 0-1-1 on the road and 0-1-1 vs. the Atlantic Division. New Jersey was 1-1-1 vs. Boston last season and was outscored 4-7 over three games. The Devils fell short, 1-2, in a shootout loss to the Bruins in their only meeting at TD Garden in 2015-16. New Jersey is 3-6-3 vs. Boston since 2012-13 and 1-3-2 when in Boston.

Ryan Spooner scored both a game-deciding goal and a game-winning goal against the Devils last season. He has three points (2g-1a) in three career games against New Jersey. Reid Boucher scored the game-winner for NJ on Mar. 29 in the Devils sole victory, 2-1, vs. Boston in 2015-16.

Michael Cammalleri has 7g-10a-17pts. in 20 career games against the Bruins. Travis Zajac has 14pts (7g-7a) in 32 career games vs. Boston, including 2pts (1g-1a) in their last meeting on Mar. 29 at Prudential Center.

Travis Zajac appeared in his 700th career game, all with New Jersey, on Oct. 13, 2016. He ranks 13th all-time in games played in Devils' history and is 8th all-time among forwards. He tied Bruce Driver for 13th all-time with 702 career games with the Devils on Oct. 18. Zajac ranks 12th all-time in franchise history with 142g-250a-392pts. Petr Sykora, 141g-228a-394pts, ranks 11th all-time in points. Zajac tied Claude Lemieux and Jamie Langenbrunner (142) for 13th all-time in Devils' history for goals on Oct. 15 at TB. Captain Andy Greene is the second-most current-tenured Devil, having played in 644 games with New Jersey. 


Andy Greene has skated in 314 consecutive games, dating back to Mar. 6, 2012. On Mar. 31, 2016 at Florida, he passed Jay Pandolfo (307 games, Jan. 22, 2003-Nov. 28, 2007) for the fifth-longest games-played stretch in Devils' history. Kirk Muller is next on the team's all-time list, having played in 321 consecutive games from Apr. 5, 1987-Mar. 31, 1991. Greene's streak is the second-longest in team history among defensemen, trailing only Ken Daneyko's 388 game stretch from Nov. 4, 1989-Mar. 29, 1994.

Taylor Hall scored recorded two power play goals (his first two goals with NJ) in his Prudential Center debut. It was his first multi-goal game since Dec. 11, 2015 vs. NYR (2g).


Martin Brodeur recorded the first shutout of his career when the Devils defeated the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, 4-0. He stopped 17 of 17 shots. Claude Lemieux, Randy McKay, Corey Millen and Alexander Semak each had one goal for New Jersey
