TORONTO - With two wins under their belt this season, the Devils hopped on to the practice ice in Toronto ahead of their Wednesday night matchup with the Maple Leafs. There was the return of an injured player, and lines that changed as coach John Hynes put his players through yet another up-tempo practice.

The lone player who missed Tuesday's practice was Drew Stafford. He also sat out Monday afternoon's game with a lower body injury. Stafford did skate before the rest of the team along with fellow injured player Kyle Palmieri. Palmeri, however, did join the rest of his teammates for regular practice. Coach Hynes reiterated that both players will be evaluated on Wednesday before any lineup decisions are made.

With the return of Palmieri to practice came a couple of line changes. He skated on the third line with Adam Henrique at center and Miles Wood on the left wing. Stefan Noesen dropped down to the fourth line, skating alongside Brian Gibbons and Blake Coleman. The top two lines remained the same.

The Devils will have to be at their very best on Wednesday, facing one of the league's top teams in the Toronto Maple Leafs. It's also a matchup that features the 2016 and 2017 first-overall draft picks going up against one another: Toronto's Auston Matthews and New Jersey's Nico Hischier.
