RALEIGH --Ten Coyotes notched at least one point, and three notched two, in a wild 6-5 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes at PNC Arena on Thursday night.
Alex Goligoski scored two goals, Clayton Keller produced a goal and an assist and Derek Stepan chipped in two assists for Arizona, which trailed 2-0 early, but led 4-3 and 5-4 after two periods.

"We were (leading) again and a couple guys cheated, and you can't," Head Coach Rick Tocchet said. "That's not winning hockey. I don't care if it's eight games left or 80 games left. It's something that we will get right. You cannot cheat this game."
The Coyotes, who played Wednesday night at Buffalo, dropped to 2-8-1 in the second game of back-to-back games this season.
"We feel a little out of control out there and out of sorts, especially in the 'D' zone and through the nuetral zone," Goligoski said. "We've got to clean it up."

Darcy Kuemper, playing his first game since March 15, had a tough night in net. He allowed a season-high six goals on 30 shots, including the game-winner by Jeff Skinner with 1:58 left in the third period.
Niklas Hjalmarsson had to be helped off the ice by teammates after suffering a lower-body injury late in the second period. He did not return to the game.
"It's too soon to tell," Tocchet said when asked if he knew the severity of Hjalmarsson's injury. "I don't think it's really serious, but I don't think it's day-to-day either. I don't know where it's at."

• Keller scored his 21st goal with just 22 seconds left in the first period to extend his point streak to seven games. He needs just one more goal to tie Peter Mueller for most goals scored in a season by a Coyotes rookie. Mueller tallied 22 in 2007-08.
• Stepan assisted on Keller's goal to reach the 50-point mark for a fifth consecutive season.
Dylan Strome assisted on Nick Cousins' goal at 5:45 of the second period. The helper was Strome's first of the season. Combined with his goal at Buffalo on Wednesday, Strome has put together the first point streak of his NHL career.
• Goligoski was credited with Arizona's first goal. He scored it in bizarre fashion by simply rimming the puck around the boards in Carolina's zone on a dump-in. Hurricanes goalie Cam Ward played the puck and it somehow lodged in his right skate, unbeknownst to him. Ward then skated back in front of his net and his right skate, and the puck, crossed the goal line. A video replay confirmed the goal at 8:27 of the first period.
"I had no idea what was even happening until I looked at the replay," Goligoski said. "No one on the ice knew what it was. Just weird. You might not ever see one of those again."

Luke Schenn, playing in his 700th NHL game, led the Coyotes with four blocked shots. He also delivered three hits and took two shots on goal.
Brendan Perlini, who has 16 goals this season but none since Feb. 15, was a healthy scratch.
"I just wanted to give 'Perls' a night off (to) refocus," Tocchet said. "I think he's been struggling lately. I had a good talk with him today. I did that earlier in the season and he went on a tear so hopefully that will be helpful for him."
