YANDLE SCORES GOAL, BUT TEAM USA LOSES TO DENMARK

Coyotes defenseman Keith Yandle scored a goal but it wasn't enough as Denmark defeated the United States, 2-1 in overtime, on Monday at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship in Cologne, Germany.

Yandle scored his goal during a power play at 12:03 of the second period. It was Yandle's first goal of the tournament and it tied the score at 1-1.

Stefan Lassen untied the score when he tapped a rebound past U.S. goaltender Scott Clemmensen at 2:04 of overtime.

Yandle was named the USA's Player of the Game.

The United States is 0-0-2 so far in this tournament but has earned two points because both losses were overtime losses. Its next game is Wednesday vs. Finland.
