On Monday, April 10, Coyotes fans will "put on the foil" to welcome three legends of hockey to Glendale Arena. Fans will be treated to the mayhem of the internationally famous Hanson Brothers, stars of the 1977 classic hockey movie "Slapshot." Jeff, Steve, and Dave will roam the concourse of Glendale Arena signing autographs and taking photos with fans, as well as performing their hockey-related brand of comedy during the Phoenix Coyotes game versus the San Jose Sharks. Game time is 7:00 P.M. Fans are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Hanson Brother to win prizes throughout the game.
The Hanson Brothers rose to fame as the central characters in the 1977 movie "Slapshot," which chronicled the exploits of the Charlestown Chiefs, a down on their luck minor league hockey team. Also starring Paul Newman, the movie became a cult classic to hockey fans throughout the world and went on to earn $28 million at the box office in the United States. Steve and Jeff Carlson, as well as Dave Hanson, portrayed the Hanson brothers in the film - brothers who played the game with an out-of-control passion that catapulted the Chiefs to unexpected heights in the standings and unparalleled exploits off the ice. The Hanson Brothers tour the world throughout the year including recent appearances at the home arenas of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Los Angeles Kings.
Tickets for the game can be purchased at the Glendale Arena box office and all Ticketmaster outlets, by calling (480)563-PUCK (7825) or by clicking here.
