TEAM USA TOPS SLOVAKIA, 6-1

On Saturday, Team USA captured their first victory at the 2007 World Junior Hockey Championships with 6-1 win over Slovakia.

Coyotes prospect Peter Mueller turned in another impressive effort with two points (1 goal, 1 assist), three shots on goal, two penalty minutes and a +2 plus/minus rating.

Team USA will return to the ice on Sunday when they face the tournament host, Sweden at Ejendals Arena in Leksand, Sweden.

CZECH REPUBLIC EARN 2-1 WIN
The Czech Republic also grabbed their first win of the tournament by defeating Team Belarus 2-1 on Saturday.

Although he was held scoreless, Hanzal recorded seven shots on goal, including four in the final period. In addition, Hanzal turned in a even plus/minus rating.

The Czech Republic will face Team Switzerland on Sunday, December 31st at FM Mattsson Arena in Mora, Sweden.
