Strome, Merkley and 38 other players attended the week-long event for Hockey Canada as it monitors potential candidates for the National Junior Team selection camp in December. Twenty-two players will be selected to represent Canada at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship in Helsinki, Finland, from Dec. 26, 2015 to Jan. 5, 2016.

Canada played two games vs. a team from the Czech Republic and two games vs. a team from Russia during the World Junior Showcase. Canada beat Czech Republic twice and split the two games with Russia.

Strome, whom the Coyotes selected with the third overall pick in this year's NHL Draft, notched three goals in three games, and Merkley, whom Arizona chose 30th overall at this year's Draft, notched two goals and one assist in two games.

Coyotes prospect Brendan Perlini also attended the camp but was held off the ice after suffering a minor injury in the first game. Arizona selected Perlini with the 12th overall pick at the 2014 NHL Draft.
