GLENDALE, AZ --- The Force will be with Phoenix Coyotes fans on Nov. 27, 2010 as Star Wars: The Clone Wars takes over the Coyotes vs. Anaheim Ducks game at Jobing.com Arena to celebrate Star Wars: The Clone Wars, now in its third season on Cartoon Network.
The Star Wars: The Clone Wars Takeover features several family-friendly activities, including the opportunity for fans to meet clone troopers and take pictures against a special Star Wars: The Clone Wars backdrop. Cox, a co-sponsor of the event, will also offer Star Wars: The Clone Wars prizes and other fun giveaways, including Hasbro’s General Grievous Lightsaber and R/C Hailfire Droid. The fun will begin out on the Jobing.com Arena plaza before the game with live music and a sign-making table perfect for creating Star Wars/Coyotes signs. Fans are also encouraged to get into the act by dressing up as their favorite Star Wars or Star Wars: The Clone Wars character.
Plaza activities will begin at 4:30 p.m. with Arena doors opening at 5 p.m. The game starts at 6 p.m. and will feature special Star Wars-themed elements throughout the game presentation.
“We’re going to bring Star Wars and Star Wars: The Clone Wars to life and really have fun with this throughout the night,” said Coyotes Vice President of Marketing and Communications Jim Brewer. “The giveaways, the music, the clone troopers, it’s all part of creating a fun family experience on a great Thanksgiving weekend night.”
Star Wars: The Clone Wars Takeover is also a Coyotes Family Fun Pack night, with ticket packages including four tickets, four hot dogs, four drinks and four passes to Sea Life Arizona starting at only $99.
“We are thrilled to partner with Cox to bring the Star Wars: The Clone Wars Takeover event to the Valley,” said Gary Brockman, vice president of network marketing and operations for Turner Network, owners of the Cartoon Network. “This event always delivers fun activities. The clone troopers are rock stars, always drawing huge audiences for their appearances. It’s a prime example of the power of the Star Wars brand, and its appeal to everyone of every age.”
Building on the huge ratings win from last spring’s second season finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Cartoon Network is the home of the critically-acclaimed CG-animated series from Executive Producer George Lucas and Lucasfilm Animation. Thrilling, unpredictable and often humorous, the exciting new adventures of the Star Wars Saga will captivate fans of all ages.
