TUCSON – The Tucson Roadrunners, American Hockey League affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes, announced today that the team has signed defenseman Brandon Burlon to an American Hockey League contract for the 2016-17 season.

Burlon comes to the Roadrunners after spending five years with the New Jersey Devils organization where he was selected in the second round, 52nd overall, of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. For the 2014-15 AHL season, the Nobleton, Ontario native led the Albany Devils in scoring among defensemen with 36 points, also placing him fourth in overall team scoring and tied for 15th in the league among defensemen. The 26-year-old rearguard has appeared in 292 AHL games, notching 19 goals, 75 assists and 94 points in that span.

"Brandon adds veteran leadership and depth to our defensive corps," said Roadrunners General Manager Doug Soetaert. "He is a solid skater with good vision when he carries the puck. The way he plays trends in the direction the sport is headed and he is a solid addition to lead our younger defensemen."

The Roadrunners will begin their first AHL campaign this season this October, and season tickets are now on sale by calling (520) 471-6627. Full-season plans start as low as $10 per seat for all 35 home games.
