GLENDALE, Ariz. – Phoenix Coyotes Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Michael Bucek recently announced the return of Pierre the Fanatic Hockey Snowman to the team’s 2008-09 marketing campaign.

Pierre, who made his debut last season in a series of Coyotes TV commercials as part of the “Hockey Headquarters” advertising campaign, has declared his candidacy for president of the United States this year.

This week, Pierre has launched his campaign for the White House as a member of the Pierreocratican Party from his campaign headquarters at His campaign slogans, some of which take direct shots at other candidates, include: “Obama has a weak slapshot,” “McCain is a figure skater,” “I have a plan filled with action,” “Give me hat tricks or give me death,” and “I promise you hot pretzels and nachos with cheese.”

Pierre will be featured in a variety of mediums including newspaper and radio advertisements, outdoor billboards, viral videos and other materials on The campaign also features fan promotional items including Pierre bumper magnets, cheer cards and buttons that will be distributed at Coyotes home games throughout October.

Pierre appeared in Phoenix after playing hockey in the “C” league in Chicoutimi, Quebec in Canada. At 2 feet 1 inch tall and weighing only 4 pounds, Pierre remains committed to making the Coyotes roster.
