On Monday, the newest member of the Phoenix Coyotes, Owen Nolan, took part in his first on-ice conditioning session in Arizona at the Alltel Ice Den in Scottsdale.

Along with eight fellow Coyotes, Nolan continued to prepare for the start of the 2006-07 season by taking part in a series of drills.

Following the practice, Nolan was officially welcomed to the organization when Coyotes General Manager Michael Barnett presented Nolan with his team sweater.

"They're (the Coyotes) a strong club that is going in the right direction," said Nolan. "They've made some good moves over the summer and this is the place I wanted to go (to)."

Also taking part in today's practice session were captain Shane Doan, Ed Jovanovski, Derek Morris, Tyson Nash, Dennis Seidenberg, Oleg Saprykin and Bill Thomas. The practice sessions will continue at Alltel Ice Den in Scottsdale over the next three weeks. All sessions are open to the public.
