Among NHL rookies, Mueller currently ranks 2nd in goals and T-5th in points.  He also has three shootout-deciding goals on the season, which places him 2nd in the NHL.

Mueller also represented the United States at the 2006 and 2007 World Junior Championships.  At the 2006 tournament, Mueller was the youngest player on the team and finished with 2-4-6 in seven games.  In 2007, he helped lead Team USA to the bronze medal by recording 3-3-6 in seven games to rank 3rd on the team in scoring.
Mueller is the fifth member of the Coyotes organization to be named to the NHL YoungStars game, which began in 2001-02.  He joins Krys Kolanos (2002 – represented by Paul Mara), Ossi Vaananen (2003) and Branko Radivojevic (2003) as the only Coyotes to be invited to the game.
