GLENDALE, ARIZONA -- The Arizona Coyotes announced today that Lyndsey Fry will serve as Commissioner for the Grand Canyon State Games Virtual 5K Pride Run on June 26 and 27.
"I am honored to be a part of this GCSG event and encourage everyone to participate," said Lyndsey Fry, the Coyotes Manager of Marketing Strategy & Special Projects. "It can take people a long time to accept themselves for who they are, and sometimes it takes families and friends even longer, but when we all work together through events like this, and partner with organizations like the Arizona Sports & Entertainment Commission and One.N.Ten, we can all get closer to a world in which people can be exactly who they are no matter where they are in their journey!"
The 27-year-old Fry represented the United States at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia where she led Team USA to a silver medal. Fry also competed for the United States at the 2013 World Championships (gold), the 2012 and 2013 Four Nations Cup and the 2009 (gold) and 2010 (silver) Under-18 World Championships. From 2010 to 2015, Fry played four seasons at Harvard University, recording 50-58-108 and 60 penalty minutes. Fry received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University and her Master's in Business Administration from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.
"The Coyotes are proud to support the GCSG Virtual 5K Pride Run," said Coyotes President & CEO Xavier Gutierrez. "It is our responsibility to support all members of our community and embrace equality and inclusion. Lyndsey is an inspirational role model to young people across our state and a great ambassador for the LGBTQ+ and the game of hockey."
The Coyotes will be launching a "Show your Pack Pride" jersey site to sell Coyotes themed pride jerseys. Proceeds from these jerseys will benefit the 5K Pride Run as well as One.N.Ten and the Arizona Sports & Entertainment Commission.
Coyotes pride jerseys, which are manufactured by Keener Jersey and will be directly shipped to fans, will be on sale from June 22 to July 6. Fans can purchase a jersey at arizonacoyotes.com/pride for $250 (custom name plate and number) or for $200 (blank back).
The Coyotes will be providing two tickets to a home game during the 2020-21 season to the winner of each age category in the eight total age brackets. Participants will also receive Coyotes items in their package including stickers, magnets and pens.
