GLENDALE – Coyotes goalie Anders Lindback will start in goal on Tuesday night vs. Chicago at Gila River Arena, and when he does he will wear his new mask on home ice for the first time after unveiling it Sunday at the Pepsi Center in Denver. Click here to view the photo gallery.
Before Sunday’s game, Lindback wore a generic white mask for most of the season after the painted mask he wore in training camp broke. He then switched brands and waited for the artist to complete his new mask as the season unfolded.
The new mask features Coyotes colors, logos and paw prints on the sides and top, and the initials “AZ” (for Arizona) are painted across its chin. The back plate is bare white except for a painted black mustache and nose – an homage to Lindback’s father that he incorporates into all of his masks.
