Lane Invited to USA Hockey's National Junior Evaluation Camp

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- USA Hockey announced today that right wing Phil Lane, drafted by the Coyotes in the second-round (52nd overall) in 2010, has been invited to take part in its National Junior Evaluation Camp from August 6-13 in Lake Placid, N.Y.

In 2010-11, the 6-foot-3, 195 pound Lane appeared in 54 games with the Brampton Battalion (Ontario Hockey League), recording 17-17-34 and 113 penalty minutes. He also collected an assist in four OHL playoff games. He ranked fifth on the team in goals and sixth in points. In 2009-10, his first season with Brampton, Lane recorded 18-14-32 and 52 PIM in 64 games while being named Brampton’s Rookie of the Year.

This will be Lane’s second invitation to the National Junior Evaluation Camp; he was also invited in 2010. The 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship will take place from December 26, 2011 – January 5, 2012 in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta.
