Freshman Season Ends for Coyotes prospect Clayton Keller

Coyotes prospect Clayton Keller scored a goal on Saturday, but it wasn't enough for Boston University, which lost to Minnesota Duluth, 3-2 in overtime, in an NCAA Tournament quarterfinal.

Keller gave Boston University a 1-0 lead when he scored his 21st goal of the season at 7:59 of the first period. The goal extended Keller's point streak to 10 games.

Keller, whom the Coyotes drafted seventh overall in 2016, notched a goal and two assists in two NCAA Tournament games.

Keller's future at Boston University is unclear. The freshman may opt to turn pro and sign with the Coyotes soon, perhaps in the next few days.

• Coyotes prospect Jared Fiegl also was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament on Saturday when his school, Cornell, lost to UMass Lowell, 5-0, in a first-round game.

Arizona drafted Fiegl 191st overall in 2014.
