'MIRACLE ON ICE' GOALIE JIM CRAIG
TO APPEAR AT COYOTES GAME TO PROMOTE
'ULTIMATE SAAAVE' CAMPAIGN
Thursday, March 22nd, 7:00 P.M. vs. Anaheim
The Phoenix Coyotes are excited to announce that former 'Miracle on Ice' U.S.A. Olympic Hockey Goalie and Gold Medalist, Jim Craig, will appear at the Coyotes game Thursday, March 22nd, when they host the Anaheim Ducks at 7:00 P.M. at Jobing.com Arena.
Craig has teamed up with W.L. Gore & Associates in conjunction with the Society for Vascular Surgery to promote the 'Ultimate SAAAVE' Campaign (Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm awareness). This cause is close to Craig as his father passed away from the disease, therefore, Craig wants to help raise awareness of the disease and a new Medicare AAA screening benefit.
There will be a pre-game ceremony which will play a PSA about the Campaign and introduce Craig to Coyotes fans. He will then sign autographs at the AAA information table on the south concourse during the first intermission. He will also join the Coyotes radio broadcast during the second intermission to talk about the SAAAVE Campaign.
Craig is now urging everyone to make the 'Ultimate SAAAVE' by taking advantage of the SAAAVE Act recently passed by Congress giving all at-risk Medicare beneficiaries a free, one-time ultrasound screening for AAA.
If someone has a family history of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), or men age 65 to 75 who have ever smoked, could be at risk of having AAA. Craig urges those to contact their physician to see if they are a candidate for the AAA screening benefit as part of the Medicare Initial Preventive Physical Examination. If someone is not a Medicare recipient they should contact their physician to see if an AAA screening is appropriate for them.
