FOX SPORTS ARIZONA ADDS 10 COYOTES HD TELECASTS

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Fox Sports Arizona has announced it will add an additional 10 High Definition telecasts to its 2008-09 Phoenix Coyotes schedule beginning with the network’s first game versus Anaheim this Sunday at 5 p.m.  With these new additions, Fox Sports Arizona will now televise 20 Coyotes games in HD this season, a 100% increase over the number of Coyotes HD games it offered last year.

The network created this HD schedule with the intention of showcasing the Coyotes in stunning High Definition when they go up against the NHL’s best teams and marquee players.

Fans can look forward to seeing the Coyotes take on some of the biggest stars of the game with the best teams in HD, including the Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins, Washington Capitals, Dallas Stars and San Jose Sharks. Fox Sports Arizona’s schedule kicks off this Sunday, Oct. 12, when the Coyotes travel to Anaheim to take on the Pacific Division rival Ducks. Coverage begins at 5 p.m.

For all HD telecasts from Jobing.com Arena, the Qwest Coyotes Live pre-game and post-game shows will be offered in HD as well.

“The Coyotes are excited for the 10 additional High Definition games and grateful to Fox Sports Arizona for adding the HD telecasts,” said Michael Bucek, Coyotes Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.  “Fan response to hockey in HD has been very strong and Coyotes fans will now be able to enjoy 20 games telecast in HD.”

“HD was made for the NHL and we know that sports fans love to watch the Coyotes play on television in High Definition,” said Mike Connelly, Fox Sports Arizona Senior Vice President & General Manager. “We have listened to the demands of our viewers and continue to follow through on our promise to increase our number of HD telecasts. Our mission is to be leader in local sports television programming and this is yet another step we are taking to prove it.”

Fox Sports Arizona’s High Definition telecasts can be seen on the following cable and satellite providers: Cox (Phoenix & Tucson - channel 734), DirecTV (686), DISH (415), Comcast (Tucson, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Las Cruces – 258), Qwest (Tempe – 329), Mediacom (Apache Junction – 329); NPG (Flagstaff, Bullhead City, Lake Havasu – 700), Western Broadband (726) and Orbitel Communications (Maricopa – 929).

The Coyotes open the regular season Saturday at 7 p.m. when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets at Jobing.com Arena.
