GLENDALE --Coyotes defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored the game-winning goal for Team Sweden on Thursday in its 3-2 victory over Team Latvia in a quarterfinal game at the 2018 IIHF World Championship in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Leading 2-1, Ekman-Larsson notched a power-play goal at 6:27 of the third period for Sweden, which will play Team USA in a semifinal on Saturday.

Ekman-Larsson also assisted on Filip Forsberg's goal in the second period, and was named Sweden's player of the game for the second time at this year's tournament. He skated 23:08.
Meanwhile, Coyotes goalie Darcy Kuemper stopped 26 of 30 shots over 64:57 to help Team Canada beat Team Russia, 5-4 in overtime, in another quarterfinal game played at Copenhagen.
Canada will play Team Switzerland in a semifinal on Saturday.
