On Friday, Shane Doan
recorded his first hat trick of the 2007 IIHF World Championships to lead Team Canada to a 6-3 win over Belarus.
Doan’s hat trick came in a span of 6:35 of the second period and included a power play, shorthanded and even strength goal. His third goal of the night would also prove to be the eventual game-winner. Doan finished the game with three goals on six shots and +2 plus/minus rating.
Team Canada (4-0-0) will return to action on Sunday, when they face Zbynek Michalek and the Czech Republic.
In other action on Friday, Team Norway slipped past Austria by the final score of 3-2.
