Coyotes captain Shane Doan left Monday's game against the Predators in Nashville because of a lower-body injury and did not return.
Doan left the ice early in the second period after playing 14 shifts and 9:43.
Doan entered the game co-leading the team with 19 points and with an eight-game point streak. He did not notch a point before leaving the game - ending the streak.
Ironically, after Monday's morning skate Head Coach Dave Tippett partially credited Doan's health for his strong start to the season.
"Shane's the one guy, who consistently, game after game, he goes out and he creates chances for us," Tippett said after Monday's morning skate. "...It doesn't matter where you put him (in the lineup) he seems like he gets the job done."
After the game, Tippett said Doan was removed from the game as a precaution and that he's considered day-to-day.
