DETROIT -- Coyotes captain Shane Doan, who suffered an undisclosed injury in the second period of Game 3 on Sunday, skated briefly before Monday's practice at Joe Louis Arena and has not been ruled out of Game 4 on Tuesday.

“I think we’ll get a good indication tomorrow morning whether he’s going to be able to play,” Coyotes Head Coach Dave Tippett said after Monday’s practice. “He was in good spirits today so that was positive.”

Doan suffered the injury when he tripped over Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard and sailed into the endboards headfirst.

Doan did not speak to reporters on Monday.

Meanwhile, center Vernon Fiddler, who missed Game 3 because of an upper-body injury, practiced with teammates on Monday and likely will return for Game 4 on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. (Arizona time).

Regarding Doan, who hasn't missed a full game since the 2007-08 season, Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney said: "It's one of those things where he's a little banged up, but we're hoping that he'll be back sooner rather than later.  It was good to get him back on the ice and moving around (on Monday). We'll just see how he is tomorrow."
