Daccord joins the Coyotes following five seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs serving in both the Scouting and Player Development Departments. Prior to joining the Leafs, Daccord was the goaltending coach for Adler Mannheim in the DEL for six seasons, winning the German Championship in 2014-2015 under current Calgary Flames Head Coach Geoff Ward. He has also served on the staff of head coaches Pat Burns, Mike Keenan and Robbie Ftorek while he was the goaltending coach for the Boston Bruins.
A native of Montreal, Quebec, Daccord earned a scholarship to play NCAA college hockey at Merrimack College which led to a seven-year professional career in the Swiss National "A" League. Following retirement, he returned to North America and earned a Master's Degree in Sports Management and authored the book "Hockey Goaltending". Daccord began his coaching career as an assistant at his Alma Mater and established his goaltending development company, Stop It Goaltending, LLC, which trains over 1,000 goalies annually and has produced over 25 NHL draft picks.
From 2016-19, Daccord's son Joey played three seasons with the Arizona State Sun Devils hockey team. In his final season with the Sun Devils (2018-19), Daccord posted a 21-13-1 record with a 2.35 goals against average and a .926 save percentage. As a junior, Daccord led the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) with seven shutouts and was a finalist for the Mike Richter Award. Led by Daccord, ASU played in the NCAA regional tournament for the first time in the team's history.
The 24-year-old Daccord was drafted by the Ottawa Senators (7th round, 199th overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft and split last season between the Belleville Senators (AHL) and the Brampton Beast (ECHL). Daccord signed a two-year, entry-level contract with Ottawa in April 2019, becoming the first player from Arizona State to sign a professional contract. Daccord made his professional and National Hockey League debut on April 4, 2019, in a road game against the Buffalo Sabres. He became the first ASU player to play in the NHL.
