The Coyotes will look to even a two-game rookie series this afternoon when they take on the Los Angeles Kings at Arena. The game starts at 2 p.m. and is open to the public at no charge.

Phoenix lost the first game of the series 2-1 on Tuesday night. Tyler Johnson scored the only goal for the Coyotes.

Coyotes goaltender Joel Gistedt will start on Wednesday. For Gistedt, it will be his first game on an NHL ice surface.

“The game is a lot faster and there are less passes on the NHL ice,” said Gistedt, who signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Coyotes this summer. “The first couple days were real tough, but I feel a lot better and ready.”
