COYOTES TO SELECT 3RD OVERALL AT FRIDAY’S ENTRY DRAFT


COYOTES OWN THREE OF FIRST 32 SELECTIONS

The Phoenix Coyotes will have the third overall drafting position for the 2007 NHL Entry Draft which will be held this Friday (June 22) at Nationwide Arena in Columbus and will be televised on Versus at 4:00 p.m. Arizona time.

Third overall is the highest position the Coyotes have had since the franchise moved to Phoenix in 1996.  In addition, the Coyotes currently have the 21st overall selection in the 2007 Entry Draft.

**Please note Pick 63 (3rd round) is conditional. Boston traded D Nick Boynton and its 4th-round pick in the 2007 Entry Draft to Phoenix for D Paul Mara and Phoenix’s 3rd-round pick in 2007 or 2008, at Boston's option (June 26, 2006). Anaheim traded LW Stanislav Chistov to Boston for Phoenix's 3rd-round pick in the 2007 or 2008 Entry Draft (previously acquired) and the option for Anaheim to switch with Boston their respective 4th-round picks in 2008 (Nov. 13, 2006).

**Please note Pick 99 and 103 (4th round) is conditional. Toronto traded G Mikael Tellqvist to Phoenix for LW Tyson Nash and a 4th-round pick in the 2007 Entry Draft (Toronto will receive the best available 4th-round pick that Phoenix possesses at the start of the 4th round of the 2007 Entry Draft) (Nov. 28, 2006).
