GLENDALE -The Coyotes will play not one, but two preseason games on Tuesday night when they take on the Los Angeles Kings in split-squad games at Gila River Arena (7 p.m ) and Staples Center (7:30 p.m.).
Head Coach Rick Tocchet will guide the team playing the Kings in Glendale, and Assistant Coach John MacLean will lead the team playing the Kings in LA.

OEL: 'Every Game is Important'

Captain Oliver Ekman-Larsson is expected to make his preseason debut in the game staged in Glendale.
"It's been a long time since I've played a game," Ekman-Larsson said after Monday's training camp practice. "It's always hard the first time you step on the ice to play a real game, especially after a long summer, but I'm looking forward to it and it's going to be a lot of fun."
Arizona will play six more preseason games, including the two on Tuesday, before starting the regular season on Oct. 4 at Dallas. Ekman-Larsson hopes to play in many of them.
"Everybody is different, but I don't mind playing in the preseason," Ekman-Larsson said. "I try to focus on getting my timing back and feeling good on the ice. That's how I approach the preseason games and even the practices because I want to be ready for the regular season. I know I've been kind of a slow starter the past couple years and I really want to be ready when we start the season this year."

The Coyotes began their preseason schedule with a 7-2 loss at Vegas on Sunday.
"There were some guys that really played hard and had some chances, and then we had some guys that weren't that good," Tocchet said. "I don't mind missed passes and stuff, it was just the mind-set. I didn't feel that they were ready to earn a job. I know it was only the first game, but the mind-set has to start Day One. I'm not going to look too much into it because there were some parts of the game that I did like, and some, obviously, that I didn't."

Tocchet on Preseason Competition

Defenseman Jason Demers, who missed the final two-plus weeks of last season because of an upper-body injury, also is expected to skate in one of Tuesday's games.
"I'm excited to play," Demers said. "I can't wait. I missed the last 10 games so I'm ready to go."
Fans can listen to Arizona's home game on the Coyotes radio network, including Phoenix-based ESPN 620 AM. The game played at LA can be heard on LA-based KABC 790 AM.
